Company transfers can be a major undertaking. The logistics alone of how to move people and things into a new place can seem a little overwhelming. Atlanta Peach Movers recognizes the massive undertaking your company is taking with your relocation and it is our goal to help you seamlessly get from Point A to Point B without hitting any potholes along the way. That’s why we’ve put together this small company transfer post, with all of the information you need to know before your begin the relocation process.

Help your company succeed with your relocation by knowing what you’re getting into ahead time.

Recognize the Emotions of Your Employees

It is important that you recognize upfront that relocating is not an easy process for anyone. Your employees will inevitably undergo a flux of emotions throughout this process, from happy to sad, from anxious to excited… The reactions will be many! On a mental and emotional level, this company transfer will take a major toll on you and your employees.

Go out of your way to soothe and encourage your employees during this transitional period. Offer a friendly shoulder and be there to answer any of their questions in person and online. The bigger part YOU play in this move, the smoother this transfer will go for your employees and their families.

Become the Informant

Because your employees are being transferred to a new community, they deserve to know as much as they possibly can about the logistics. After all, moving is tough. Become their informant. Gather as much information about the actual moving process as you can. Consider dates, times, rates, expenses, locations, etc. And then compile all of this information in a well organized booklet or email. Consider this something like a giant Question + Answer. Be sure to give everyone who is participating in the relocation this information well ahead of time. The more information your employees have ahead of time, the less confusion and anxiety there will be throughout the company transfer.

Create a Community

Your relocation means that most of your employees will be losing their connections to a community. And, for a lot of people, this loss of community can negatively affect their overall happiness. Don’t let your employees become lonely or bitter. Find easy, creative ways to gather your workers together by hosting fun team building activities or family picnics. The better and faster your employees are able to bond, the better work they will produce for your company.

Tie Up Loose Ends

Be sure that your employees aren’t negatively affected by all of the loose ends that occur with relocations. Step in and worry about the small details so that they can concentrate on finding new homes and settling their families. Providing your employees with a moving company is one major loose end that you can tie for them. Don’t expect them to do everything for themselves. Try to take the burden of moving away from your employees by providing basic services for their transitions.
