New to Georgia? Here’s Everything You Need to Know

From things to do to our favorite local restaurants, to how to register to vote, we have you covered! As local Georgians, we want to offer that one of a kind southern hospitality and make you feel at home. Whether you live in the United States or Internationally, Atlanta Peach Movers has you covered. Atlanta Peach Movers is the moving company that Atlanta trusts for their national and international relocations. From 1987 we grew to become Georgia’s largest moving and storage company. As long standing Georgians, we want to give you our advice on making living in Georgia an incredible experience!

Exploring Georgia

For a hike, check out AtlantaTrails.com to get lists of local trails, waterfalls, and places to walk your pets. Our personal favorite is Brasstown Bald in North Georgia. It is about a two hour drive from Atlanta, with scenic views along the way. The trail is about 1 mile round trip and offers picturesque 360 degree views. On the way home, you can stop by Helen, Georgia, for a warm german cuisine. German Cuisine? Yes! Helen, Georgia, was built to look like a small German town in the alps, but in this case, in the Appalachian mountains. It is home to a plethora of ice cream stands and authentic German food.

If the outdoors aren’t your style, you can cheer on the Braves in East Cobb at their new stadium! We also love going to Six Flags and White Water for family adventures or exploring the World of Coke and Georgia Aquarium

For a relaxing personal day, take a walk on the Atlanta Beltline. Enjoy the bright Georgia sun and explore the unique graffiti artwork along the paths. The walking and biking path takes you by historic Ponce City Market. The market was once a Sears building and has since been converted into a market full of shopping, local restaurants, and apartments.

Let’s Get Some Grub!

Let’s get some Grub! Here are some of our favorite local restaurants, and we will even let you in on our favorite orders too! For tasty Mexican food, check out Ceviche Taqueria and Bar or Jaliscos. Ceviche has a location in Roswell and Alpharetta, and we’re kind of obsessed with their tacos and chicken tortilla soup. Jaliscos has been around for ages and is the spot locals grow up going to. The management and many servers have been the same ever since I first started going there over 15 years ago. We can’t stop eating their endless supply of salsa and queso. For burgers, pull up to Moxie Burger. It is local to Georgia and has grown to four locations in Cobb, Roswell, Shallowford, and Kennesaw. If you’re in the mood for barbeque, try Williamson Brothers or Fox Brother’s BBQ. Every time our family is in town, we take home some of Williamson Brothers’ famous hot sauce and BBQ sauce.

For a sweet treat with the family, look for your local Jeni’s Ice Cream. They have tons of unique flavors to try. Strawberry Buttermilk is a personal favorite.

Weather, Jobs, and More…

Weather

As a local Georgian, this is the perfect place to live if you are looking for mild winters. There is the occasional snow, but most of the time, the weather near Atlanta stays above 32 degrees and is slightly rainy in the winter. The summer can reach a balmy 100 degrees, but we have plenty of AC to keep up with the heat.
